The Elite Software Rhvac program performs ACCA Manual J, D, and S HVAC calculations, and is available both as a Windows program and as a web based application called Rhvac Online. See more details on those programs here.

These HVAC calculation programs include hundreds of building materials that are listed in the standard Manual J book from ACCA. However, it is quite common to encounter new building materials that are not listed in the Manual J book.

For example, there are new windows that have exotic materials like low-e triple pane glass with argon filled air spaces. The more advanced the material, whether it be a multi-layered window, or a new structurally insulated roof panel, or a super thick foam wall, the more likely that material will not be in the standard material list of Manual J.

For situations where you cannot find the material you need in the Manual J material list within the software, you will want to use the Create Custom feature to add the new material and all its properties into the material database of the Rhvac software.

Elite Software has created two new videos to help you learn how to use the Create Custom feature in Rhvac for Windows and Rhvac Online. These videos are shown in a playlist here and on the new Elite Software YouTube channel.
