Elite Software offers over 30 programs for all kinds of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design applications. This monthly newsletter will announce new software, tradeshow events, and tips on using existing software. See previous newsletters here. Chvac is a commercial HVAC load calculation program based on the ASHRAE CLTD/RTS calculation procedures, which comply with ANSI Std. 183. See details on Std. 183 here. Elite Software has created new Chvac videos, some interactive and some continuous play with voice and sound. Here is a link to the new videos. The continuous play videos are also available on the new Elite Software YouTube channel, as seen here. The most recent video for Chvac involves how to use the gbXML file import and export feature. A gbXML file is a file created from a CAD drawing system like Revit or AutoCAD MEP. A building drawing created in one of these advanced drawing systems contains building information needed for a load calculation such as roof, wall, and glass areas plus quantities of lights, people, equipment loads. This information within the drawing file can be exported to a special gbXML file that can be read and imported into the Chvac program. Using this feature saves you many hours of time, since you don't have to type into Chvac all these room data details. The gbXML files can be quite variable in what they contain. To better handle this situation, several new import options have been provided in a free update to existing Chvac 8 users. Read more details about what a gbXML file is and download some sample gbXML files. If you have any questions, please feel free to call 800-648-9523 or 979-690-9420, or send email to info@elitesoft.com. Sincerely, Bill Smith |
