  1. Fixed an installation problem.

Version 1.01.32 [2/1/2011]

  1. Fixed another installation problem.

Version 1.01.31 [1/13/2011]

  1. Fixed an installation problem.

Version 1.01.29 [1/11/2011]

  1. Fixed a problem with the Update Manager. The files needed by the Update Manager were not all installed with the previous version of E-Tools.

Version 1.01.27 [6/15/2009]

  1. Made it so double clicking this program's license file, no matter where it is located, will copy the license file to the correct folder.

Version 1.01.26 [1/21/2008]

  1. In the Wire Sizing window, changed the maximum voltage drop limit to 10%.

Version 1.01.25 [12/14/2007]

  1. Redesigned the Resistance & Reactance Tables window in order to make the window easier to use.

Version 1.01.24 [10/8/2007]

  1. Fixed a problem that caused the program to display a message saying "conductors are too big for the conduit" when no such error existed.

Version 1.01.23 [8/16/2007]

  1. Made it so E-Tools will run properly on foreign versions of Windows that use the Double Byte Character Set, such as Korean, Chinese, and Japanese versions.

  2. Fixed a problem that could have prevented E-Tools from running on Vista.

Version 1.01.22 [8/13/2007]

  1. In the Panel Sizing window, increased the number of circuits in a panel to 42.

  2. Made E-Tools compatible with Windows Vista.

Version 1.01.21 [4/13/2007]

  1. Proprietary changes.

Version 1.01.19 [12/5/2006]

  1. Added a One Conduit or Cable input to the Wire Sizing window to indicate whether or not all the conductors are in one conduit or cable. Note 8 from NEC Table 310-16 determines the wire ampacity only if this input is Yes.

  2. Removed the Covering input because we believe most of our customers do not need to calculate the size of bare conductors. E-Tools now assumes that all conductors are covered when calculating wire sizes.

  3. Made it so the Triplexed, Buried, and Three Conductor Cable inputs are deactivated when the voltage is 2000 volts or less.

Version 1.01.18 [11/22/2006]

  1. Fixed an error in the calculation of rated current in the Wire Sizing window.

Version 1.01.17 [11/20/2006]

  1. In the Wire Sizing window, made it so any input that has one valid value is disabled.

  2. Modified the wire sizing calculations so that when there are multiple conductors in a circuit, the conductors are not considered to be connected in parallel (electrically joined at both ends).

  3. Removed "Total Wire Size" from the Wire Sizing window because it is irrelevant and replaced it with "# of Conductors."

Version 1.01.15 [6/16/2006]

  1. Fixed an error involving the protective device size and ground conductor size calculated for a motor.

Version 1.01.14 [8/16/2005]

  1. Added Conductor Size to the Results section of the Wire Sizing window. This is the minimum size of each conductor when there is more than one conductor in the wire.

  2. Changed Shielding to Covering in the Wire Sizing window.

  3. Added "None" to the list of conduit types in the Wire Sizing window.

  4. Added the following entries to the Wire Sizing window: Temperature Rise, Three Conductor Cable, Buried, Triplexed, Messenger, and Wind.

  5. Changed the Wire Sizing calculations to comply with note 8 from Table 310-16. This note concerns wires that contain more than three conductors.

Version 1.01.13 [6/30/2005]

  1. Added an error message that will be displayed if the load in the Wire Sizing window is too great for any wire in the specified range of sizes to handle.

  2. Made it so the efficiency will change to 100% in the Wire Sizing window if the load is entered in amperes or kVA.

  3. Changed the default load duty in the Wire Sizing window to Non-Continuous.

  4. Changed Cables Per Phase to Conductors Per Phase.

Version 1.01.12 [5/17/2005]

  1. In the Wire Sizing window, changed the maximum conductor temperature to 200 when the voltage is less than 2001 V. Also changed the maximum conductor temperature to 105 when the voltage is greater than 2000 V.

  2. In the Wire Sizing window, corrected the results when the voltage is greater than 2000 V according to NEC Tables 310.73, 310.74, 310.77, and 310.78.

  3. Modified the Wire Sizing window to change the minimum wire size when the voltage changes.

Version 1.01.11 [3/24/2005]

  1. Eliminated another "subscript out of range" error that happened when calculating wire sizes in a high voltage circuit.

  2. Fixed a problem that caused the Wire Sizing window to show a voltage drop of 0 for some large wire sizes.

Version 1.01.9 [3/18/2005]

  1. Fixed a problem in the Wire Sizing calculations that caused a "subscript out of range" error when the calculated wire size was greater than 600 kcmil.

Version 1.01.8 [12/14/2004]

  1. Corrected some numbers in the E-Tools Tutorial.

Version 1.01.7 [12/13/2004]

  1. In the Network Component window replaced the old magnetic/non-magnetic conduit types with three new conduit types: PVC, aluminum, and steel.

  2. Changed the default temperature rating for cables to 75 degrees Celsius.

  3. Made technical changes to the Update Manager.

Version 1.01.6 [11/15/2004]

  1. Fixed a problem that caused the short circuit and voltage drop calculations to be wrong if you selected a cable that was 250 kcmil or larger.

Version 1.01.5 [11/12/2004]

  1. Fixed a problem that caused the Conduit Sizing window to display a message saying that a valid conductor was not available.

  2. Added a Copy License File button to the About E-Tools window.

  3. Made technical changes to the Update Manager.

Version 1.01.4 [9/8/2004]

  1. Updated the Wire Sizing calculations. The Table 8 and Table 9 data from the 2002 NEC Handbook is now used in the calculations. Also wire sizes are displayed in kcmil instead of MCM where applicable.

  2. Fixed a problem that caused an error message to appear if you entered an ambient temperature greater than 113 degrees in the Wire Sizing window.

  3. Raised the maximum allowed power factor to 1 in the Wire Sizing window.

  4. Made it so the wire resistance is calculated using the conductor temperature rating instead of the ambient temperature.

  5. Made technical changes to the Update Manager.

Version 1.01.3 [8/3/2004]

  1. Fixed a problem that prevented you from closing an E-Tools project while the Elite Software Update Manager was open.

  2. Fixed a problem that caused an error message to appear if you saved a project while the Select Luminaire window was open.

Version 1.01.2 [8/2/2004]

  1. Added an "Elite Software Update Manager" feature to automatically check to see if an update is available when the program is first opened. Also added a menu item under the Help menu called, "Check for Updates," which lets you open this new program, named EliteUpd.exe. This program lets you check the current status of your Elite Software programs to see whether or not any of them need to be updated.

  2. Changed the installation script so that all the files installed with the program are current. The program was locking up because some of the files installed with the program were out of date.

Version 1.01.1 [7/15/2004]

  1. Changed the valid range for Temperature Deviation in the Short Circuit and Voltage Drop windows to prevent errors.

  2. Made the installation file smaller.

Version 1.01.0 [4/9/2004] (Initial Release of E-Tools 1.01)

  1. Created a help file that provides details on every feature of the program.

  2. Made it so old shortcuts to E-Tools will be deleted automatically when E-Tools is installed.

Version 1.00.13 [3/11/2004] (Public Beta Release)
