HVAC Comfortech 2004 in St. Louis

RHVAC Update
RHVAC 8.0 has now been released with full support for ACCA Manual J Eighth Edition, as well as the following new features:

RHVAC has just been updated to incorporates all of the recently published addenda (A, B, C, & D) for ACCA Manual J, Eighth Edition. This includes Addendum C which gives you much more control over duct loads. Click here for details on the Addenda changes and how they benefit you.
Greatly expanded material lists for roofs, walls, and windows. Also supports Favorite, Recent and Custom Materials as well as a global material database.
Support for new glass and window properties, including insect screen, ground reflectance and more.
Allowance for hot water piping losses. Lets you enter the characteristics of the hot water distribution pipe in order to calculate its sensible loss.
Accounts for heat recovery units and reduced fresh air loads
Extensive new duct gain and loss factors for all types of scenarios. Allows you to precisely specify the characteristics of the duct system in order to more accurately determine its sensible gain and loss. Now includes latent gain due to the ductwork as well.
New option to calculate winter humidification requirements. Allows you to specify an indoor relative humidity in the winter in order to calculate the required gallons per day of water to be added, as well as the sensible loss due to the device.
Psychrometric Chart Graphical Report: Displays each point in the cooling process on an altitude-adjusted chart.
New exhaust options to accurately predict fresh air requirements
Blower Power Sensible Gain: When the cooling equipment's rated capacity does not account for the heat gain due to the blower motor and fan, this input allows you to directly enter the wattage of the blower as a supply side load.
Adequate Exposure Diversity Check: An hour-by-hour calculation is done on the glass sensible gain to determine if the system meets the criteria for Manual J's Adequate Exposure Diversity test. The results of the test are shown on a dialog that lets you choose whether to use the Peak or Average calculation method for the rooms and for the system. There is also an Adequate Exposure Diversity report that displays a 13-hour load line illustrating the variation in glass sensible gain over the course of the day.
Adequate Exposure Diversity Test Graphical Report: Shows you the hourly glass load in order to let you see how far the peak deviates from the average.
Calculation Method Option: Automatically determines the optimum method to use for compliance with Manual J's recommendations for system and room level load calculation methods (Average or Peak method).

ASHRAE 2005

ELEC Tools

Elite Software is proud to announce ELEC Tools, a collection of 14 common electrical calculation and data look-up tasks. These tasks include wire sizing, conduit sizing, motor equipment sizing, panel sizing, lighting requirements (in metric or English units), current to power conversion, Ohm's Law calculator, capacitor sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, and the quick look-up of many electrical formulas and conversion factors.

CHVAC Update
CHVAC 7.0 has now been released with support for the Radiant Time Series (RTS) cooling calculation method, as well as the following new features:

RTS Calculation Method: You can now select to use either the CLTD method or the new Radiant Time Series (RTS) method for calculating cooling loads. The RTS method is from the 2001 ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals and is very accurate because it calculates the delayed effect of radiant heat gains during each of the past 24 hours on the current cooling load.
Easier and Better Glass Definitions: Now you can enter the width and height dimensions for each window or skylight rather than having to enter them for the master glass and then figure out the correct quantity to enter on the Zone Data window. The Room Construction value of Light, Medium or Heavy required for each glass in the CLTD method is now automatically assigned based on the selection you make for the entire zone in the new Zone Type input.
Individual Ground Reflectance Values: You can enter a different ground reflectance for each component rather than having only one value for the whole project, which makes the results more accurate because different exposures around a building are likely to have different ground reflectances. Because the RTS method requires this input for roofs and walls, each roof and wall now has a Ground Reflectance input, which makes it so each skylight and window is automatically assigned a ground reflectance value that is appropriate for its exposure.
Glass Number of Occurrences: You only have to enter data once for a window or skylight that occurs multiple times in the same wall or roof.
Floor Slab Coefficient for Each Zone: You can now enter the floor slab coefficient for each zone rather than having to use the same value for the whole project.
Easier to Use Zone Data Window: The Zone Data window has been redesigned to make it easier to enter all the data. You can change the number of visible roofs, walls and glass by clicking the plus and minus buttons next to each group's scrollbar. Pressing Enter when on the last visible row of a component now makes the components scroll down by one so you can enter another item of the same type. If the Type input of a component is set to zero, pressing Enter moves the cursor to the next group of inputs. All the important data is now on two tabs instead of three.
More Roofs, Walls and Glass per Zone: We've more than doubled the allowed number of roofs, walls and glass you can enter for a zone.
Zone Notes: You can save as many notes about a zone as you want in the new "Notes About This Zone" input on the Zone Data window.
Easier Weather Data Selection: Both the Weather Database and the Indoor/Outdoor Design windows now let you select a city from a single dropdown list that shows all cities in the database.
Easier Weather Database Editing: It is now much easier to edit and add cities in the weather database.

Sprinkler Details are the most complete set of CAD sprinkler details available on the market today. Sprinkler CAD Details also includes standardized schedules, notes and symbols. These ready-to-use fire protection CAD details are an excellent addition to your CAD drawings library and will save you many hours in drawing time. LIGHT for Windows

DRAWING BOARD Update
DRAWING BOARD is an easy-to-use automated drawing program for creating floor plans and double line duct drawings. Drawings can be quickly created by dragging and dropping room shapes and other drawing objects from the built-in Object Catalogs. Drawing Board is an integrated component of RHVAC, CHVAC, and DUCTSIZE. These programs can calculate directly from a drawing made with the Drawing Board option of those programs. The Drawing Board update is free for existing users and can be obtained by downloading updated copies of RHVAC, CHVAC, and DUCTSIZE.

New features recently added to Drawing Board include numerous new options for drawing doors and more importantly, realistic double line duct fittings, such that engineering quality drawings can now be made. For more information, click here.

AUDIT Update

AUDIT 7.01 is now available as a $99 update for AUDIT 6.0 users. AUDIT calculates monthly and annual hvac operating costs. It is great for comparing different hvac systems against one another. New AUDIT 7.0 features include: new hvac equipment databases, provision for displaying pictures of hvac models, support for unlimited number of systems, fuel rates and appliance sets, new direct exchange heat pump model type, new boiler options (two stage and fully modulating), improved reports and much more. HVAC Solution

HVAC Solution is a Windows based program that allows the user to schematically design HVAC systems.   Load generating components such as boilers are connected to load consuming components such as heating coils. Each component communicates information to other components when connected in schematic form. HVAC Solution uses the piping schematic representation to generate equipment sizing data and prepare equipment project hydronic and airflow schematics as well as schedules for construction documents. HVAC Solution will soon link with Elite's CHVAC load calculation program. Now with a new lower price of $499.   Get all the details and the new software here!

HEAVENT for Windows
